During the year 2010-2011, eight meetings of the Council took place at Headquarter and in different parts of the Country for better interaction with various Regional Chapters and also to share and appreciate urban planning and development paradigms of various regions of the country. Details of the Council meetings are given below-

- 1st Meeting was held on 25th September, 2010 at ITPI HQ New Delhi in which Dr. A.N. Sachithanandan was elected as President, Shri B. Mahendra as Vice-President and Dr. Najammuuddin as Secretary General. Dr Ashok Kumar and Shri R. Biswas were nominated as Secretary (Publication) and Secretary (Examinations) respectively for the year 2010-2011.

Shri Rajender Sharma and Shri S.D. Saini were elected unanimously as the members of Executive Committee. During the meeting calendar of Activities of ITPI was finalized. On the invitation of Gujarat Regional Chapter, it was decided to organize the 59th NTCP Congress, at Ahmedabad.
2nd Meeting was held on 23rd October, 2010 at ITPI H.Q., New Delhi in which various Committees were constituted. It was decided that, if ITPI do not receive the invitation from the Government of Gujarat for holding 59th NTCP Congress at Ahmedabad then, the venue may be shifted to Panchkula, Haryana. It was also decided to approach the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India to expedite the proposals of updating / revision of UDPFI Guidelines. Dr. Najammuuddin, Secretary General was nominated as representative of ITPI on Academic Council of SPA, New Delhi. Dr. A.N. Sachithanandan as representative of ITPI on Board of Governors of SPA, Bhopal, Vijayawada and New Delhi. Shri V. Satyanarayan was co-opted as member of the Committee constituted to examine the issues raised by the members in their representations relating to Election Procedure of ITPI Council.
3rd Meeting held on 11th December, 2010 at IIT, Roorkee. The members reviewed the arrangements being made for 59th NTCP Congress to be held at Panchkula, Haryana during 10th - 12th February, 2011. The minutes of the meetings of the Committees - PSC, HQBC, Elections Procedure Committee, ESC, Technical Committee and Information Technology Committee were confirmed.
4th Meeting was held on 9th February, 2011 at HRC Building, Panchkula, Haryana in which minutes of the H.Q.B.C. and recommendations of the jury constituted for selecting Prof. V.N. Prasad Best Thesis Award and minutes of the Task Force on PG Programme in Town & Country Planning were confirmed. Arrangements made by Haryana Regional Chapter, Panchkula for 59th National Town and Country Planners Congress were reviewed and found satisfactory.
5th Meeting was held on 12th April, 2011 at ITPI HQ, in which it was decided to depute a team of Experts to review Masters in Urban Planning Programme of Bhaikaka Centre for Human Settlement, Vallabh Vidyanagar, Gujarat. ITPI has also published the book titled "The Leading Lights of ITPI: Their Mission and Profession over the Sixty Years" which was appreciated by all the members. Council decided to nominate Dr. Najammuuddin for the post of Chairman and Prof. Kavas Kapadia as member of DUAC for the consideration of MOUD, Government of India. A Committee was also constituted to study the Recruitment Rules in various states and formulate Draft Model Recruitment Rules for Town Planning Services.
6th Meeting was held on 7th May, 2011 at ITPI H.Q., New Delhi in which minutes of the 1st Meeting of PSC were confirmed. The Committee which was constituted for "Conditions of Engagement of Professional Services and Scale of Professional Fees and Charges", was also requested to revise and update the same.
7th Meeting was held on 11th June, 2011 at New Delhi. In the meeting minutes of HQBC and Disciplinary Committee were confirmed. A proposal for the installation of CCTV at ITPI was approved. It was decided to organize West Zone Conference at Goa. The progress of the Committee constituted in the Annual General Body Meeting to examine the issues of Council Elections was reviewed and it was decided to request the Committee to expedite the recommendations / report for the consideration of the forth-coming Annual General Meeting of the ITPI.

8th Meeting was held on 16th July, 2011 at New Delhi, in which the minutes of the 1st Meeting of Assignment Evaluation Committee and the Committee constituted for Model Recruitment Rules were confirmed. The minutes of Town Planning Examination Board and Professional Standing Committee were also accepted. A proposal of Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India regarding regulation of Town Planning Profession in India was considered and it was decided to request the Ministry to consider assigning these functions to ITPI, which as the same are being performed by ITPI since 1951. The Membership and Seminar / Workshop Grant to the Regional Chapters was enhanced to Rs.400/- per member and Rs.200/- per participants respectively. Schedule of Council Election for 2011-2012 was also approved. Executive Committee was authorized to finalize the draft Annual Report of the Council (2010-2011) along with Auditors Report with Balance Sheet (2010-2011). In addition the progress of the MCD Property Tax Case was also reviewed. |
